From the desk of Ravaging Rad Chode.
We hit the road Friday afternoon after gathering our troops from Panama City and Graceville, FL. Destination Red Line in Athens, GA. We knew we were in for a long drive complete with time change. Living just barely in the central time zone can be a real bitch but were determined to enjoy the change of scenery.
We took some wholesome Chode Family photos at a couple of rest stops and visitor centers. It dawned on me that we had to travel several hours North to get to the South. The vegetation was different a few hours up. Gone were the swamps in favor of hills and HOLY SHIT MOUNTAINS! Our sea level dwelling asses were in awe before we even had to drive on them.
I put on NC Royalty by Antiseen as we crossed the North Carolina state line. Then what to my wondering eyes should appear but a miniature farmer in full farmer gear! The little woman was tending to her vegetables with a rake taller than herself. The overalls were likely Osh Kosh. Definitely not something you see every day… unless you live about a minute N of the NC line! This was a good omen predicting the childlike joy we would feel all weekend.
