From the Desk of Ravishing Rad Chode
After a full day of both leisure and exploration we finally made it to the Rulebreaker’s Ball. We had to drive around the block a couple of times before finding parking. It was in a happening part of town with people buzzing about the surrounding blocks. It didn’t take us long to notice the tow trucks everywhere ready to ruin the night of many a downtown patron.
There were some wrestlers at the event. I am horrible with names but everyone was cool. We sold some 2X shirts. Sabbath Crow and Hit & Run were both stellar. I was pretty worked up by the time we took the stage. Heavy TX porters were drank. The WWF title fanny pack cooler finally made it’s on stage debut. I scored some Rancid Vat swag and an Antiseen record from Marla and Bier.
We still had adrenaline after playing and the bar was cool so we hung out for a while and chatted up the locals. I ran into some bird named Sue Sin who runs a TX Oi page. While talking to her I couldn’t help but notice some skinheads coming up the steps. Badges passed the vibe check. There was at least one SHARP. This was my first time seeing more than one or two random skinheads in many years. Long before my days as a long haired rock n roll wild man I used to wear their uniform.
After a few more beverages and an emphatic last call we headed back to headquarters but not before Kyle hurled random obscenities at some tow truck vultures. We only had a couple of hours left before we had to hit the road and head to Mississippi. The Spring time change was not in our favor.
